Rohit Sharma made history by becoming the first Indian player to hit 300 sixes in the IPL during Mumbai Indians’ Eliminator match against Gujarat Titans. The milestone came in his 271st game, with the six coming off Rashid Khan’s bowling. Sharma, who started his IPL career with the Deccan Chargers before moving to Mumbai Indians, is now second on the list of most six-hitters in the league, behind Chris Gayle. He is also the joint-most successful captain in IPL history, with five titles to his name. Despite a slow start in the IPL, Sharma has been in fine form since the 2024 edition, scoring 341 runs in 14 matches this season. In the match against Gujarat Titans, Sharma was dropped twice, and the second dropped catch led to his milestone of 300 sixes and 7000 runs in the IPL. Sharma currently ranks second in all-time IPL run-scorers, behind Virat Kohli.
