Rajasthan Royals’ captain Riyan Parag recently underwent shoulder surgery following the conclusion of the 2026 IPL campaign. In a social media post on June 11, the 24-year-old shared his struggles over the past two years, including good and challenging days during matches. Despite the difficulties, Parag expressed gratitude for the experiences.
During the 2026 IPL season, Parag scored 309 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 157.65, achieving a high score of 90. The Royals faced injuries but managed to reach Qualifier 2 before falling short of a finals spot against the Gujarat Titans.
Following his surgery, Parag will undergo rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He is expected to miss a significant portion of the 2026-27 cricket season, including the India A tour of Sri Lanka.
The announcement was made on June 11, 2026, and fans will have to wait to see Parag back in action on the cricket field.
