Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant century was overshadowed by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal’s impressive batting performance, leading Royal Challengers Bangalore to a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Gujarat Titans posted a challenging total of 205, with Sudharsan scoring 100 runs off 58 balls, his third century in the IPL. However, RCB’s bowlers tightened their grip in the later stages of the innings, not allowing any boundaries in the final four overs to restrict GT from reaching a higher total.
In the second innings, a missed opportunity by Washington Sundar to dismiss Kohli early on proved costly as Kohli went on to score 81 runs off just 44 balls. Padikkal also played a crucial role in the chase, scoring 55 runs off 27 balls to maintain the momentum for RCB.
Despite a late fightback from GT, with quick wickets of Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya and Tim David guided RCB to victory. Kohli and Padikkal’s partnership set the tone for the chase, leaving little for the middle order to do.
The match ended with RCB emerging victorious, showcasing their strong batting lineup and chasing abilities. Published on Apr 24, 2026.
