RCB bowler Rasikh Salam had to leave the field during the match against Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium due to cramps. He was preparing to bowl the last over of the first innings when he suddenly stopped mid-run up, clutching his feet in pain.
This was not the first time Rasikh experienced cramps during a match. In a previous game against Mumbai Indians, he had to receive treatment from physios multiple times, causing interruptions in the game. Despite managing to continue playing against MI, Rasikh was unable to do so against GT. After a thorough assessment by the physios, the team management made the decision to take him off the field.
Krunal Pandya took over bowling duties for Rasikh in the last over, as GT finished with a total of 205 runs on the scoreboard. Rasikh had bowled 0/28 off his three overs before being forced to leave the field.
The incident occurred on April 24, 2026, and it showcased the physical toll that sports can take on athletes like Rasikh. Hopefully, he will be able to recover quickly and return to the field in full form for future matches.
