Romi Bhinder, the manager of Rajasthan Royals, has been fined Rs 1 lakh and warned by the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit for using a mobile phone in the dugout during an IPL match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The decision came after Bhinder failed to provide a satisfactory response to a show-cause notice. This incident serves as a reminder for all stakeholders to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the BCCI.

The footage of Bhinder using his phone in the dugout went viral on social media, leading to the ACSU taking action. According to IPL guidelines, no one except team managers and media managers are allowed to use mobile phones in the dugout area. Bhinder, a long-serving figure with Rajasthan Royals, has been part of the system for years and should have been aware of the protocols.

The BCCI conducts mandatory briefings for team captains and managers before every IPL season to educate them on the PMOA framework and anti-corruption protocols. Bhinder, who also worked with Rising Pune Supergiant during Rajasthan Royals’ suspension, has now been fined and warned for his breach.

Rajasthan Royals will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday. The incident serves as a reminder for all stakeholders to follow the rules and regulations set by the BCCI to maintain the integrity of the game. The BCCI hopes that this incident will act as a deterrent for future breaches.
