Raj Angad Bawa, a 22-year-old all-rounder, made his debut for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 Eliminator match against the Gujarat Titans. He earned a spot in the playing 11 due to the absence of Deepak Chahar. Bawa, along with Jonny Bairstow and Richard Gleeson, were the three debutants for Mumbai in that game. MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat against the Gujarat Titans. Bawa, a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, made his IPL debut for the Punjab Kings in 2022. He comes from a sporting background with his grandfather being a member of India’s gold-medal-winning hockey team at the 1948 Olympics. Bawa idolizes Yuvraj Singh and wears jersey number 12 in honor of him. He has represented India in various youth tournaments and played a crucial role in India’s U-19 World Cup victory in 2022. Bawa was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction.
