Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif criticized Kolkata Knight Riders for sticking to a left-right batting strategy in the ongoing IPL season. Kaif felt that this approach had backfired, as evidenced by Rinku Singh batting at No. 8 in a recent match against Lucknow Super Giants. He urged the team to identify their main player and clarify the roles of their batters. Kaif suggested that KKR should deploy their big hitters early in the innings to avoid slow partnerships like the one between Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer against Gujarat Titans. He also questioned the decision to drop Quinton de Kock in favor of a right-handed batter, emphasizing that the left-right batting strategy was not working for the team. Kaif highlighted the importance of sending the right players at the right time to maximize their chances of success.
