Kagiso Rabada, despite being cleared to play after serving a ban for recreational drug use, was not included in the Gujarat Titans’ playing XI against the Mumbai Indians in an IPL 2025 match. GT captain Shubman Gill revealed that Rabada needed more practice sessions to get back in the groove. The team made one change, bringing in Arshad Khan in place of Washington Sundar. Rabada, who left the IPL last month after a positive drug test, served a provisional suspension and has now been fully available for selection in the remaining matches.

Gujarat stated that Rabada has accepted responsibility for his mistake and regrets his actions. Despite playing only two matches in this season of the T20 tournament, Rabada expressed his remorse and vowed to continue working hard. Gujarat Titans are currently fourth in the table with four league matches remaining. The top four teams at the end of the league phase will move into the playoffs. Rabada, South Africa’s leading fast bowler, is expected to play a key role in the World Test Championship final against Australia.
