Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh then took charge for Punjab, with Wadhera scoring a quickfire 70 runs. Despite a late surge from the Royals, Marco Jansen’s two wickets in the final over sealed the victory for Punjab Kings.
Shreyas Iyer’s 30 runs and Wadhera’s half-century were crucial for Punjab Kings, who posted a competitive total of 220 runs. Tushar Deshpande and Kwena Maphaka were instrumental in stifling the Kings’ early momentum, but the Royals were unable to capitalize on their efforts. The loss leaves Rajasthan Royals at the bottom of the points table, while Punjab Kings move up to second place.
