PBKS suffered a major setback with captain Shreyas Iyer confirming that Glenn Maxwell sustained a fractured finger injury and will miss the rest of the IPL 2025 games. The team is yet to decide on Maxwell’s replacement. Ricky Ponting, the head coach, mentioned that they are exploring options within the squad and blamed the ongoing PSL 2025 for the delay in finding replacements. He stated that they are looking at Indian talent and younger players to fill the roles. Ponting emphasized the need to finalize the replacements before the 12th game and mentioned that they have until then to make a decision. The team has almost a week to select the replacements as their next game is against LSG on May 4, followed by a match against DC on May 8 in Dharamshala. Marcus Stoinis also confirmed Maxwell’s injury and expressed disappointment for his teammate. Despite the setbacks, PBKS remains confident in the team’s abilities and is focused on utilizing the existing talent to win matches.
