The music world mourned the loss of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, April 12. Tributes poured in from all corners, including from cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Both Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore paid their respects by wearing black armbands during their IPL 2026 match at Wankhede Stadium. A minute of silence was also observed in honor of Bhosle before the game.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first, making two changes to their lineup, while RCB brought in Jacob Duffy in place of Josh Hazlewood. Tendulkar expressed his sorrow on social media, calling Bhosle a part of their family and praising her timeless music. Kohli also shared his condolences on Instagram Stories, acknowledging Bhosle’s impact on millions of hearts worldwide.

Bhosle’s son confirmed that her last rites will be held on Monday, April 13. Known for her contributions to Hindi film music, Bhosle’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
