Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni concluded their IPL 2025 campaign with a convincing victory over Gujarat Titans on Sunday. Despite the win, CSK remained at the bottom of the table, finishing behind Rajasthan Royals on Net Run Rate.

Dhoni took on the role of captain for CSK midway through the season due to an injury to Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the 2025 season, Dhoni scored 196 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 135.17. He hit 12 fours and 12 sixes, with a strike rate of 151.72 in the death overs. His highest score was 30 not-out, achieved twice against Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

One of Dhoni’s standout performances was against Lucknow Super Giants, where he played a match-winning 26 off 11 balls in a chase. Additionally, the veteran cricketer took five catches and completed five stumpings throughout the season.

Although Dhoni did not get the opportunity to bat against the Titans in the final match, his contributions throughout the season were notable. Despite the team’s struggles, Dhoni’s leadership and performances on the field were commendable. As the season comes to a close, fans will look forward to seeing what the future holds for both CSK and their iconic captain, MS Dhoni.
