Lucknow Super Giants have announced Shardul Thakur as the replacement for injured left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Thakur, a seasoned all-rounder, was acquired from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) at his base price of Rs 2 crore. With extensive experience in all three formats of the game for India, Thakur also brings valuable IPL experience, having played 95 matches for various franchises such as Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.

A two-time IPL champion with Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and 2021, Thakur’s addition to the LSG squad enhances their depth with his versatile skillset. LSG is set to begin their IPL 2025 campaign against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam.

Thakur’s signing comes as a strategic move by LSG to strengthen their bowling unit and bolster their all-round capabilities. The team will be counting on his expertise and winning mentality to make an impact in the upcoming season.

Despite the setback of losing Khan to injury, LSG is confident in Thakur’s ability to step up and contribute effectively to their campaign. Fans can expect to see Thakur in action as he looks to make a significant impact for his new team in the IPL 2025 season.
