A backroom staff member was allegedly seen violating a BCCI rule by using a mobile phone in the dugout. The incident occurred during the opening over of the match when the individual was captured on camera during a replay clip. The visuals went viral on social media, raising questions about a breach of the IPL’s PMOA protocol.
According to the protocol, mobile phones and electronic devices are not allowed in the PMOA except for the designated team analyst. Despite initial social media speculation, it was later clarified that the individual was not part of the LSG dugout. This incident mirrored a previous violation by Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder, who was fined by the BCCI for using a mobile phone during a match.
Bhinder admitted to the offence, citing health reasons for the breach, which was accepted by the BCCI. The incident serves as a reminder of the strict protocols in place to maintain the integrity of the game and prevent any unauthorized communication during matches.
