Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has suggested that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) should target pacer Arshdeep Singh during the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. Arshdeep was recently released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Uthappa believes he would excel at the Ekana Stadium due to its bounce and movement-friendly conditions.

Arshdeep, known for his success in T20 cricket, has an impressive record of 95 wickets in 59 T20Is at an average of 18.47. He was a key player in India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in the tournament.

Uthappa also recommended using the ‘Right-to-Match’ option for Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and appointing West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran as the team captain. He advised against pursuing Ishan Kishan, suggesting that the Ekana pitch may not suit his aggressive style of play.

In terms of opening options, Uthappa mentioned Quinton de Kock, Kyle Mayers, Will Jacks, and Devon Conway as potential choices for LSG. He highlighted the highly anticipated IPL auction, with 574 players listed, including marquee players like Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul.

The auction features a mix of 366 Indian players, 208 overseas players, and 318 uncapped Indian players. With a total of 204 slots available, including 70 for overseas talent, the auction is set to be a thrilling event for cricket fans.

In conclusion, Uthappa’s strategic suggestions for LSG revolve around targeting Arshdeep Singh, utilizing the RTM option for Stoinis, and appointing Pooran as the captain. The upcoming IPL auction promises excitement with a diverse pool of players available for selection.
