Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), captained by Rishabh Pant, are facing injury concerns with pacers Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan. To address the issue, Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed revealed that LSG contacted him for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Taskin, who impressed in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, mentioned that the franchise inquired about his availability and the possibility of obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
No Bangladeshi player was picked by any IPL franchise for the 2025 season, prompting LSG to consider Taskin as a potential replacement player. Taskin expressed confidence in securing the NOC from the BCB if required by the franchise. He emphasized the importance of receiving a call from LSG before proceeding with the NOC process.
LSG also has pacers Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Shamar Joseph in their squad, with Shardul Thakur expected to join as a replacement player. The team is set to kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Delhi Capitals on Monday at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
