The final of the IPL 2025 will see Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This match will determine a new champion, as Punjab has only reached the final once before, back in 2014. In that final, Wriddhiman Saha of Punjab Kings made history by becoming the first player to score a century in an IPL final. Saha’s explosive innings of 115 runs off just 55 balls, including 10 fours and eight sixes, set a high standard for future finals.

In 2018, Shane Watson of Chennai Super Kings joined Saha in the elite club of players scoring centuries in IPL finals. Watson’s unbeaten 117 off 57 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad helped CSK secure their fourth IPL title with a comfortable chase of 179 runs.

These two instances remain the only occurrences of a player scoring a century in an IPL final. The excitement and pressure of a final match often bring out the best in players, and these performances by Saha and Watson will be remembered in IPL history for their brilliance under pressure.
