The IPL Trophy victory for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday was a momentous occasion not just for the team, but for every player who has been a part of the franchise over the past 18 years. Captain Virat Kohli’s heartfelt gesture towards broadcaster Mayanti Langer, whose husband Stuart Binny was a former RCB player, left her emotional. In a viral video, Kohli was seen handing the trophy to Mayanti during the celebrations, urging her to touch it.

Stuart Binny, a Bengaluru native who retired from cricket in 2021, was part of the RCB team that reached the final in 2016 but fell short of victory. Mayanti, originally from Delhi, moved to Bengaluru over a decade ago after getting engaged to Stuart. She expressed her love for the city and its charm in an interview.

The RCB team received a grand welcome in Bengaluru upon their return, with fans lining the streets to greet them. The team will participate in a victory celebration at Chinnaswamy Stadium, starting with an open-top bus parade from Vidhana Soudha. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister welcomed the players at the airport as they gear up for the celebrations.
