Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their IPL campaign on a high note with a dominant performance against Kolkata Knight Riders. Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive century (105*) led the charge as SRH posted a mammoth total of 278/3, the third highest in IPL history. The opening partnership between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head set the tone with a 92-run stand, before Klaasen’s blistering innings of nine sixes and seven fours took the game away from KKR.
Defending champions KKR faltered in their chase, eventually falling short by 110 runs and finishing seventh in the league standings. Sunil Narine and Jaydev Unadkat picked up crucial wickets for KKR, but their batting lineup crumbled under pressure. Despite efforts from Manish Pandey and Harshit Rana, the match was already out of reach for KKR.
SRH’s bowlers also played a significant role in the victory, with Harsh Dubey taking three wickets to restrict KKR to 168 all out. The comprehensive win showcased SRH’s batting prowess and bowling depth, ending their season on a positive note despite finishing eighth in the points table.
