KL Rahul made history in the IPL with an incredible innings of 152 not out off just 67 balls, becoming the first Indian batter to reach the 150-run mark in a single innings. Playing for the Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rahul’s knock powered his team to a massive total of 264/2, the highest of the IPL 2026 season so far.

Rahul’s innings was a display of control and power, with 16 fours and 9 sixes at a strike rate above 220. He was dropped early on by Shashank Singh, but made the most of the opportunity by forming a record-breaking partnership of 220 runs with Nitish Rana, who scored 91 off 44 balls.

This innings also set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian in the IPL, surpassing the previous record of 141. Punjab Kings struggled to contain Delhi Capitals’ onslaught, with their bowlers failing to find answers.

While Punjab Kings faced a daunting task in chasing 265 runs, the match will be remembered for Rahul’s historic innings, pushing the boundaries of what Indian batters can achieve in the IPL.
