KL Rahul recently made IPL history by becoming the fastest Indian, and the third-fastest overall, to hit 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League. He achieved this milestone in just 129 innings during a match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Only Chris Gayle and Andre Russell have reached this feat faster than him. Rahul surpassed Sanju Samson’s previous Indian record of 159 innings. His milestone six came with a clean strike, showcasing his consistency and flair in the format.

Rahul now joins a club that includes AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suresh Raina, all of whom needed more time to reach 200 sixes. With 200 sixes and counting, Rahul solidifies his position among the league’s most destructive hitters. Currently, Gayle leads the all-time sixes tally with 357, followed by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Rahul’s IPL journey began in 2013 with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he failed to hit a single six. He found his range in 2016 with 16 sixes and continued to excel in subsequent seasons. Representing Lucknow Super Giants from 2022 to 2024, he hit 53 sixes and led the team to two playoff appearances. In 2025, he was picked up by Delhi Capitals in the mega-auction and has so far hit 13 sixes for his new franchise.
