Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been a prominent team in the Indian Premier League since its inception in 2008, owned by Shah Rukh Khan. The team’s over-reliance on the top order, particularly Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, has been evident, while the middle order has failed to capitalize on opportunities. Injuries to key bowlers like Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy have also impacted KKR’s performance in crucial moments, especially in the death overs.
As KKR currently sits 9th on the table, there is a pressing need for the team to address issues of role clarity and player utilization to turn their season around and build a strong foundation for the future.
