Kolkata Knight Riders, the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion, recently unveiled its new jersey for the upcoming 2026 season. The team, known for its iconic shiny gold patches on the shoulders and side panels, is gearing up for the tournament which is set to commence on March 28.
Having clinched the IPL title in 2012, 2014, and 2024, KKR is aiming for another successful season. Despite finishing as runners-up in 2021, the team is determined to make a strong comeback this year.
Preparations are in full swing as KKR is scheduled to kick off their pre-season training in Kolkata on March 18. The players, including captain Ajinkya Rahane, are expected to arrive in the city a day before the training camp begins. Uncapped domestic players such as Tejasvi Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Ramandeep Singh, Prashant Solanki, and Sarthak Ranjan are set to join the camp, with Rinku Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy expected to follow shortly after.
KKR’s first match in the IPL 2026 season will be against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29. The team’s first home game is scheduled against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2.
