Former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta expressed confidence in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) qualifying for the playoffs following their recent victory against the Delhi Capitals. KKR’s win extended their winning streak to four matches, putting them in seventh place with nine points in the league. Dasgupta believes that if KKR wins their remaining four matches, they could reach 17 points, securing a playoff spot. However, he also mentioned that their net run rate could play a deciding factor if they lose a game. KKR’s upcoming matches are against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals.

On the ESPNcricinfo show, Dasgupta highlighted the importance of spinners like Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine in the second half of the tournament, especially on tired pitches. Meanwhile, Mitchell McClenaghan emphasized the significance of the next two games against RCB and GT in securing a playoff spot.

In their recent match, Finn Allen’s unbeaten century and Cameron Green’s contribution helped KKR chase down a target of 143 runs set by DC, who collapsed in their batting order and posted 142/8 in 20 overs. Anukul Roy and Kartik Tyagi stood out with two-wicket hauls for KKR.
