Shane Watson, the former Australian all-rounder, has been appointed as the assistant coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Watson, who previously served as the assistant coach for Delhi Capitals under Ricky Ponting, will now be joining the coaching unit led by Abhishek Nayar.
With an impressive international cricket career that includes 59 Tests, 190 ODIs, and 58 T20 Internationals, Watson has accumulated over 10,000 runs and more than 280 wickets across formats. In the IPL, he has had a successful 12-year career, playing 145 matches and scoring four centuries. He has also lifted the IPL trophy twice, with Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and Chennai Super Kings in 2018.
Expressing his excitement about joining Kolkata Knight Riders, Watson said, “It’s a great honor to be part of such an iconic franchise.
