South African and Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been provisionally banned after testing positive for a recreational drug, as confirmed by the player in a statement released on Saturday. Rabada expressed his remorse for letting down those who have supported him and acknowledged the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that he will never take the privilege of playing cricket for granted. He is currently serving a provisional suspension and is eager to make a comeback to the sport he loves.

Rabada recently returned to South Africa from the IPL due to personal reasons, which he later clarified was linked to the adverse analytical finding for the drug use. Despite the setback, he expressed gratitude towards his agent, CSA, Gujarat Titans, SACA, and his legal team for their support during this challenging time. He also thanked his friends and family for their understanding and love.

Looking ahead, Rabada is determined to not let this incident define him and remains committed to working hard and playing with passion. In his brief stint with Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, he took one wicket for 41 runs in the opening game against Punjab Kings and recorded figures of 1 for 42 in the second game against Mumbai Indians. Rabada was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 10.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.
