Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood recently made a comeback to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team for the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Hazlewood, who was bought by the franchise for INR 12.50 crore, impressed in the season opener against Kolkata Knight Riders by taking 2 wickets for 22 runs in four overs.

Hazlewood spoke about the experience of bowling to RCB’s legendary batsman, Virat Kohli, in the nets. He described Kohli’s presence as inspiring and demanding, pushing his teammates to perform at their best even during practice sessions. Hazlewood praised Kohli’s aggressive style and high-intensity approach, which keeps the team’s batting unit on its toes.

Having faced Kohli in international cricket, Hazlewood understands the challenge of bowling to the modern-day great. Despite dismissing Kohli 11 times across formats, Hazlewood acknowledges Kohli as a prized scalp and appreciates the intensity and preparation that comes with facing him.

Both Hazlewood and Kohli played crucial roles in RCB’s victory over Kolkata Knight Riders, with Hazlewood taking wickets and Kohli scoring a half-century. The duo’s contributions helped RCB secure a convincing seven-wicket win in the season opener.
