MI’s Jasprit Bumrah has struggled this season, only managing to take two wickets in eight matches with an alarming average of 132.00. This is the worst average for any bowler who has bowled 25 or more overs this season. Despite his poor form, Bumrah will face off against the Chennai Super Kings, a team that he has historically struggled against in the IPL.
In 17 matches against CSK, Bumrah has only managed to take 15 wickets at an average of 33.20 and an economy rate of 7.58. However, in their recent encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Bumrah had a decent outing, picking up 1 wicket for 31 runs in a high-scoring match where CSK scored over 200 runs.
Although Bumrah has only played two matches at the Chepauk so far, he has a slightly better record with two wickets at an average of 20.50 and an economy rate of 5.85. With MI’s playoff chances hanging by a thread, Bumrah will need to find his best form starting with the upcoming match against CSK.
