Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Punjab Kings, revealed that he barely slept for four hours after his impressive knock of 87 not out against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 second Qualifier. Despite sending his team to their first ever IPL final in 11 years, Iyer admitted that he is still not content and is focused on the upcoming final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With able assistance from Josh Inglis, Priyansh Arya, and Nehal Wadhera, Iyer led his team to chase down 204 runs with an over to spare.
Speaking to the press ahead of the final, Iyer talked about being in a destructive zone against Mumbai Indians and how he was locked in from the day before the match until the final six. Despite his outstanding performance, he mentioned that he is happy but not content.
Iyer also mentioned that he could only manage four hours of sleep after the late-night match before getting into pre-final proceedings, including the press conference. Punjab Kings, who finished at the top of the league table, will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final, looking to avenge their previous loss and claim the IPL title.
