The upcoming IPL auction is scheduled to be held in Goa on December 16, as per reports from BCCI logistics team. While an official confirmation is still pending, the auction is expected to take place at the ITC Grand Goa. The BCCI forwarded a WhatsApp message to teams on October 17, informing them about the auction date.
However, team owners and chief executives are yet to receive an official email confirming the details. The message mentioned that the auction briefing will be held on December 15, a day before the actual auction. Several IPL teams have acknowledged receiving the communication from BCCI.
The purpose of sending the message was to assist teams in making logistical arrangements and travel plans to Goa. It is uncertain if the date of the auction will be altered, but an official communication is anticipated to be sent out soon.
Interestingly, there is a potential scheduling conflict as India is scheduled to play Sri Lanka in an ODI in Bengaluru on the same day as the auction. Reports suggest that the venue for the first match, initially set for New Delhi on December 13, might be changed. BCCI has refuted any plans to move the game. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
