Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid provided an update on Sanju Samson’s injury status, stating that it will be assessed on a daily basis. Samson, who sustained an injury in a previous match against Delhi Capitals, will not be playing in the upcoming game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Riyan Parag will continue to captain the team in Samson’s absence.

Dravid mentioned that the medical team did not clear Samson to play in the upcoming match, so they decided not to risk his travel to Bengaluru. They are aiming to get him back on the field as soon as possible but are monitoring his progress day by day with no specific timeline for his return.

Regarding stand-in captain Parag, Dravid praised his ability to understand the game well despite his young age and limited experience in captaincy. Dravid himself is currently using crutches and a wheelchair due to a leg injury but assured that it does not hinder his coaching responsibilities. He humorously mentioned that as a coach, he doesn’t need to score runs or take catches, just use his brain and mouth, which are functioning well.

Dravid expects to regain full fitness in about three weeks. Despite his injury, he remains actively involved in coaching the team and is focused on guiding them to success in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
