Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni admitted during the toss ahead of the IPL 2025 match against SunRisers Hyderabad that his team has been struggling to read the wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium ever since they were relayed in 2010. Dhoni debunked the myth of CSK preferring slower tracks and emphasized the need for consistency in pitch conditions. CSK, five-time champions, are currently at the bottom of the table with just 4 points from eight matches.

Dhoni acknowledged that CSK has not been performing well in various departments and highlighted the importance of enjoying the game and focusing on the process rather than the result. He stressed the need for players to back themselves, have confidence in their abilities, and execute their plans on the field.

For the match against SunRisers Hyderabad, CSK made two changes to their playing XI by bringing in Dewald Brevis and Deepak Hooda. Despite the team’s struggles, Dhoni remains optimistic about their chances and is taking it one game at a time to find the right combinations and improve their performance.
