MS Dhoni has not joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad as they travel to Delhi for their IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), sparking concerns about his availability for the upcoming game. CSK bowling coach Eric Simmons confirmed that Dhoni is still recovering from a calf injury and is not yet fit to play.
The former captain has not played a single match in the current season, missing out on his 10th game due to the ongoing injury. Despite participating in training sessions and traveling with the team to previous matches, Dhoni has not been included in the playing XI. Initially ruled out for the early stages of the tournament, his absence has prolonged beyond expectations, even after passing a fitness test.
Batting coach Mike Hussey disclosed that Dhoni has purposely stayed away from match venues to prevent drawing attention and diverting focus from the team. CSK, currently in the middle of the points table, will have to continue without their key player as they aim for a spot in the playoffs of IPL 2026.
