The IPL CEO, Hemang Amin, will be meeting with the chief executives of all Indian Premier League franchises by Saturday to ensure strict adherence to tournament protocols and anti-corruption guidelines. This decision was made during the IPL Governing Council meeting on Thursday following concerns raised about anomalies and irregularities in the conduct of certain franchises and players.
According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, some franchises have been lenient in following tournament protocols, leading to the need for a meeting to “apprise and sensitise them on the dos and don’ts.” The Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has provided input on this matter, prompting the CEO to take action.
Saikia mentioned instances of unauthorized persons accompanying players and entering hotel rooms, as well as team owners and players frequenting unauthorized areas. He emphasized that any violation of rules will not be tolerated, and the integrity of the tournament must be maintained.
The CEO will communicate the importance of following protocols either in person or through teleconferencing with the franchise CEOs. The BCCI is vigilant and committed to ensuring that all teams adhere to the guidelines to prevent any dilution of the tournament’s integrity.
