The Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed contrasting performances in two consecutive matches. In the first game, a high-scoring affair saw 429 runs scored in just 38.5 overs. However, in the following match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the pitch offered swing and bounce, leading to Delhi collapsing to 8 for six. They eventually set a target of 76 runs, which RCB chased down in just 39 balls.

Former cricketer Irfan Pathan criticized Delhi’s decision to not include Prithvi Shaw and Abhishek Porel in the starting XI. Delhi’s batting lineup, led by Pathum Nissanka, failed to deliver consistently, prompting questions about their selection strategy. Despite high expectations, Nissanka could only manage 147 runs in seven games.

Pathan suggested that Shaw or Porel would have been better choices, given their recent form in domestic tournaments. Porel eventually came in as an Impact Sub and top-scored for Delhi with 30 runs. The loss to RCB marked Delhi’s third consecutive defeat this season, leaving them in the bottom half of the table with just one win in six matches.
