Afghan debutant Sediqullah Atal had a thrilling IPL debut, hitting two sixes and surviving two dropped chances before being dismissed for 22. Karun Nair then took charge, hitting four boundaries in four balls against Pravin Dubey to keep the chase on track. Rizvi continued the momentum, guiding Delhi to victory.
Earlier, DC bowlers stuck to a back-of-a-length approach, limiting Punjab Kings’ openers. Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets, including the early dismissal of Priyansh Arya. Shreyas Iyer’s 53 off 34 balls kept the run rate high, bringing up his fifth half-century of the season. Marcus Stoinis’ quickfire 44 not out ensured Delhi surpassed the 200-run mark, despite Kuldeep Yadav’s two wickets.
In the end, Delhi Capitals’ solid batting performance helped them secure a comfortable victory over Punjab Kings in the IPL match.
