Mumbai Indians have suffered a blow as wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and pace-bowling all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL season due to injuries. De Kock has a tendon injury in his left wrist, which he sustained before the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Bawa suffered a ligament tear in his right thumb during the match against Punjab Kings.
With Mumbai Indians already out of the playoff race, they have two matches left this season against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. De Kock, who played three matches this season, scored an unbeaten 112 against Punjab Kings before missing the SRH clash due to his injury. Bawa, on the other hand, made three appearances for MI this season.
Both players will continue their rehab at home with support from the Mumbai Indians medical team to aid their return to play as soon as possible. Mumbai Indians have wished them a speedy recovery and will announce replacements in accordance with IPL guidelines.
