Reports have emerged suggesting that Chennai Super Kings’ key bowler Khaleel Ahmed will miss the remainder of the IPL 2026 season due to an injury. The franchise has not yet made an official statement regarding the player’s condition.
During a recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Khaleel Ahmed was forced to leave the field with what initially seemed to be cramps. The incident occurred just before the final delivery of the 17th over when Khaleel pulled out of his run-up, clutching his right leg.
Despite attempting to continue, Khaleel soon signaled to the dugout that he was unable to carry on. He was replaced by Gurjapneet for the remainder of the over.
The 28-year-old bowler’s absence will be a significant loss for the Chennai Super Kings as they continue their campaign in the IPL 2026 season. The team will have to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by Khaleel’s injury.
As of now, the extent of Khaleel’s injury and the timeline for his return are unknown. The Chennai Super Kings will have to wait for further updates on his condition before making any decisions regarding his replacement in the squad.
