Rajasthan Royals started the season strong by winning their first four games, but two consecutive defeats have dropped them to fourth place in the points table. Captain Riyan Parag has faced criticism for his poor batting form, managing only 61 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 122. His struggles in the middle-order were evident in the losses to Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer suggested promoting Shimron Hetmyer higher in the batting order and moving Parag down to address the issue. Jaffer also highlighted the importance of Parag finding form to maintain his influence in the dressing room. Despite his talent and past performances, Parag’s lack of runs this season is a cause for concern. With another away game against Lucknow Super Giants approaching, Rajasthan Royals will need Parag to step up and deliver with the bat to turn their fortunes around.
