The Maharashtra Cricket Association is reportedly in talks with Royal Challengers Bangalore to offer them a temporary home for the IPL 2026 edition. The MCA Stadium in Gahunje, Pune is being considered as a venue after the tragic stampede near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier this year. The Chinnaswamy Stadium needs updates following the incident, leading to it being overlooked for major tournaments. Pune has offered itself as a candidate to host RCB’s games and is confident a deal will be finalized. The decision is expected after the IPL auction in late December. The MCA Stadium, with a capacity of over 42,000 fans, has previously hosted IPL matches for other franchises. The MCA secretary believes Pune is the most ideal alternative for RCB’s home games due to logistics and accommodation. Discussions are ongoing, with Pune likely to be selected as the host city for RCB in IPL 2026.
