Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal will reportedly pay actor-choreographer Dhanashree Verma ₹4.75 crore in alimony as part of their divorce settlement. The amount was revealed during a Bombay high court hearing to expedite their divorce proceedings. Chahal has already paid ₹2.37 crore of the total alimony amount, with the rest to be paid once the divorce is finalised. The couple got married in 2020 and filed for divorce in 2025 after being separated for two years. Rumours of their split circulated on social media when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Speculation about the alimony amount reached ₹60 crore, but Verma’s family refuted these claims, stating that no such amount was asked for or offered. They criticized the spread of false allegations and urged the media to fact-check before reporting. The court denied the couple’s request to waive the cooling-off period due to Chahal’s incomplete payment of alimony, leading to the decision for the family court to finalise their divorce on March 20.
