Bhuvneshwar Kumar last played for India four years ago in a T20I against New Zealand. Despite his absence, Aakash Chopra believes it’s time for him to make a comeback in T20Is based on his stellar performance in the ongoing IPL 2026. Leading the bowling charts with 21 wickets in 11 matches for RCB, Bhuvneshwar also showcased his batting skills by hitting a crucial six. Chopra praised his exceptional form and called for his inclusion in the Indian T20I team. However, with India scheduled to play 18 T20 internationals this year, the chances of Bhuvneshwar’s return seem slim as the team management prefers younger players. While Dinesh Karthik earned a recall to the team in 2022 after a successful IPL stint, his comeback was short-lived. Despite his impressive performance, Bhuvneshwar’s age and the team’s focus on youth may hinder his chances of representing India in T20Is again.
