The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit has issued a show-cause notice to Romi Bhinder, the team manager of Rajasthan Royals, for using a mobile phone during an IPL match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The notice requires a response within 48 hours. The charge relates to the use of a mobile phone in the dugout, which is prohibited to prevent any potential corrupt information exchange. While team managers are allowed to use mobile phones in the dressing room, they cannot do so in the dugout during matches. Bhinder had reportedly obtained permission from the ACU due to a medical condition that required hospitalization before the IPL. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that the incident’s veracity would be determined before taking any action. The footage of Bhinder using his phone went viral on social media, leading to the ACU’s investigation. Rajasthan Royals will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad next. The incident occurred on Apr 13, 2026.
