The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a revision in the schedule for the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The afternoon match on April 26 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, originally planned to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will now take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai at 3:30 PM. The reverse fixture on May 21 will return to Ahmedabad at 7:30 PM IST. This change was made due to municipal corporation elections in Gujarat on April 26.
The IPL 2026 season began on March 28 with RCB and SRH facing off. The BCCI initially released the schedule for the opening matches before finalizing the full league-stage schedule on March 26. The remaining 50 league matches will be played from April 13 to May 24 at 12 venues across India. The second phase will include double-headers with matches in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and other cities. The playoff venues are yet to be announced, but the final is expected to be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rajasthan Royals currently lead the points table, while Kolkata Knight Riders are at the bottom.
