The BCCI is unconcerned about the bat-ball imbalance in the IPL, despite 200-plus totals being chased down in 11 matches. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that some low-scoring matches have also occurred, and fans are enjoying the variety of outcomes. He mentioned that a review of the Impact Player rule will only happen after this year’s IPL. Saikia echoed Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Muttiah Muralitharan’s view that rules favoring batting dominance are for entertainment purposes rather than cricket development. The decision on playoff venues will be made in the next two days, with potential venues beyond New Chandigarh and Bengaluru. The BCCI is also looking into penalizing franchises like Rajasthan Royals for code of conduct violations, such as captain Riyan Parag’s vaping incident. Saikia emphasized the need to wait until the end of the tournament before making any rule changes.
