RCB captain Rajat Patidar and SRH skipper Pat Cummins have been fined for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during a match at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Patidar, who played as an impact sub, was fined INR 24 lakhs for his team’s slow over rate, which was their second offence of the season. The rest of the Playing XI also received fines. SRH captain Pat Cummins was fined INR 12 lakh for the same offence, as it was his team’s first offence of the season.
RCB’s chances of making the top two took a hit after losing to SRH by 42 runs. Despite a good start by Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, RCB failed to chase 232. SRH’s Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 94 off 48 balls helped them post a competitive total. RCB is now in third place with 17 points from 13 matches. They need to win their last match against Lucknow Super Giants and rely on other results to secure a top-two spot. A loss in the final match will send RCB to the Eliminator round.
