Zaheer Khan has reportedly left Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Khan had joined LSG last year as a mentor, replacing Gautam Gambhir. According to reports, LSG is set to part ways with Khan, and a new mentor will be appointed to oversee the development of RPSG Group’s other franchises. This move is part of a broader restructuring of RPSG’s cricket operations. Khan played a dual role at Lucknow as a mentor and bowling coach. Last month, Bharat Arun was appointed as the new bowling coach with additional responsibilities for scouting and developing bowlers for other RPSG franchises. After leaving LSG, Khan met former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and posted a photo with him on social media. Yuvraj Singh was also present in the photo. Khan captioned the image “Buggi night with Shana log.” Between 2018 and 2022, Khan served as Mumbai Indians’ Director of Cricket before transitioning to Head of Global Development.
