Former Australian opener David Warner is set to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League as the captain of Karachi Kings. He expressed his excitement for the opportunity after retiring from international cricket last year. During a press conference before the team’s first match, a Pakistani reporter brought up the topic of Indian trolls targeting Warner for playing in the PSL instead of the IPL. Warner, taken aback by the claim, stated that it was the first time he had heard of such hate. He emphasized his focus on playing cricket and leading Karachi Kings to victory in the tournament. Warner, who previously played for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, holds the record for being the league’s most successful overseas batter with 6565 runs in 184 matches. He led Sunrisers Hyderabad to an IPL title in 2016 and remains one of the top scorers in the league. Warner’s priority now is to contribute to Karachi Kings’ success in the PSL and continue his impressive cricketing career.
