Organizer Molina Singh explained, “Virat embodies the quintessential Delhi boy vibe. His essence is inherently Delhi, and we wanted to capture that.” The decision to feature Virat was confirmed through an Insta poll, where suggestions ranged from Shah Rukh Khan to Sidharth Malhotra. However, Virat’s popularity as a cricket icon made him stand out.
Co-organizer Paridhi Puri highlighted the style aspect, stating, “Delhi’s barbers have been inundated with requests for Virat Kohli’s haircut for years. We wanted to tap into that obsession and bring together all the Kohli doppelgängers for a fun community event where participants can connect and enjoy.”
The competition is open to all who wish to showcase their resemblance to the cricket star. Interested individuals can head to Lodhi Gardens on December 1 at 3pm, where they may find themselves surrounded by a crowd of Virat lookalikes. The winner, who best embodies the cricketer’s look, will receive a prize of ₹1,000 along with bragging rights.
