Virandeep Singh, the 26-year-old captain of Malaysia, is the sole associate-nation player included in the IPL 2026 auction pool. Despite being a late addition to the final list, he has entered the mini auction with a base price of Rs. 30 lakh.
Making his international debut against Thailand in 2019, Virandeep is known for his versatility as a cricketer. He can bat in the top order, bowl left-arm spin, and also keep wicket. His T20I record for Malaysia is impressive, with 3115 runs in 110 matches at an average of 37 and a strike rate of just under 127. He has also scored 22 fifties and remains Malaysia’s most consistent run-scorer.
In addition to his batting prowess, Virandeep has been equally effective with the ball in the associate circuit. He has taken 109 wickets in 110 T20Is with an economy of 5.57 and an average of 13.82, showcasing his control as a bowler.
While he featured in the ILT20 last season with Sharjah Warriorz, he unfortunately did not get a chance to play.
Virandeep’s all-round abilities and impressive performances make him a promising prospect for the IPL auction. Published on Dec 13, 2025.
